The participant stated at class that she wasn't feeling well and her back was bothering her. P seemed unwell and was escorted to the managers office after stating she felt hot and her apt was not air conditioned. P was sent to the ER for evaluation. According to P, an x-ray was done and she was diagnosed with a back strain. P stated she strained her back the previous Saturday, while pushing a heavy card outside through the local square. Back has bothered her since then. ER MD suggested she be evaluated by primary MD and cleared prior to returning to study classes. P saw her NP, diagnosed with pinched nerve and prescribed muscle relaxants. P told it should resolve in 1-2wks. Will send out letter to MD/NP next week for clearance to return to class. Medical clearance was received for P to return to class.
